Under 15 Boys – 2021

The Under 15 Boys’ report as tabled, presented and accepted at the AGM Sunday 7 November, 2021

Pre-Season

We started with pre-season workouts focussing on stick skills and fitness 6 weeks out from the first game. Training workouts were also open to U13 boys who played up in U1 S’s this year. U13’s playing up was crucial in our ability to enter a U15 team into the completion this year.

Season

The start of our season was strong with mostly wins and a few losses. Our boys both U15 and U13 combined well together to form an amazing squad. A group of dedicated young men both on and off the field.

Training times were to start early at 5pm to enable extra training time on the field prior to Senior Training. All players embraced the early start and committed to this as a team with the intention of bettering their skills and fitness.

The leadership and camaraderie of this group of boys was amazing to be a part of. They are leading the way for future generations of lacrosse.

The strength of the playing group week in and week out lead to only 3 losses for the season, and to being Grand Finalists. A nail biter of a game lead to a disappointing loss in the dying seconds of the game against Brighton.

It is inspiring and exciting to see how much this group of young boys have learned, grown and developed during the season. This progress has these boys ready for the next stages of the game as they have adapted to, and are ready for the seasons ahead.

There is no question in my mind that if this playing group remain together in the future, continued development will lead to much greater success and undoubtably a few flags along the way.
