The latest COVID-19 guidelines

The following Training Plan will be implemented in line with the SA Government Covid-19 restrictions andGuidelines for Public Activities as of 1st of July. This document is adapted from the South Australian Emergency Management (Public Activities No.3). Current Level of Social distancing

As 1st July and in accordance with Step 3 of the Roadmap and Emergency Management Directions, please note thefollowing:

  • Physical distancing measures must still be followed
  • 1 person per 2 square meters
  • 1.5m between people
  • Room/venue limits will be subject to the 1 person/2 square meter rule, so room size will determinecapacity (see Covid Safe Plan attached for capacity numbers)
  • All outdoor sport and training can commence
  • Outdoor activities do not need to maintain records With regardsto Food and Beverages:
  • Purchase and consumption of food or beverages (including alcohol) is permitted as long as no communal food or beverage service areas are used (i.e. buffets, salad bars, water/beverage dispensers)
  • Sausage Sizzle/BBQ’s are allowed providing
    • People being served must practice physical distancing when lining up to order and practice good
    • No self-service of condiments (person serving the food must apply condiments).
    • Cooked food must be protected from contamination and stored away from the area where orders are
  • Team sharing of food during and after training and competition is not permitted (i.e. halftime oranges, recovery food etc).
  • Food or beverages can now be consumed whilst seated or standing.
  • Communal facilities
    Communal changing rooms, shower facilities and sauna or spa facilities and toilets are now permitted to be used.

All SA Government social distancing practices, Hygiene recommendations, Density and maximum occupancy requirements are to be adhered to.

Continual updates on our level of preparedness will be distributed by our Newsletter via email and alsoposted on our Social media group pages. To aid with numbers and distribution of information, all playersand officials must be registered (registration links below) and current contact details submitted should'contact tracing' be required.

No subs will be charged until Lacrosse SA has released what the season will entail. Sturt will also have a strict no registration no train/play policy.

Signage will be placed around the club facilities highlighting the importance of good hygiene practices, hand washing,social distancing and serves to remind people about minimising the risk and exposure to COVID 19.

Downloading and using the COVID Safe App is strongly recommend by the Sturt Lacrosse club.

Training Schedule

The training schedules aim is to provide equal opportunity for players to enter, practice and leave the training grounds while maintaining social distancing. Age/playing groups are assigned a timeframe to a designated training area with an allocated entry/exit from their allotted car parking.

Players will be notified of their training groups from their coaches/managers via our social media portals. Please see the Sturt Lacrosse Training Schedule below for details.

Objectives are:

  • A strong emphasis on ‘Get in, Train, Get out’ is to be
  • Maintain social distancing as much as possible during training and game play.

Coaches and Managers

  • If coaches and Managers are unwell they should not attend trainings, games or club functions.
  • Additional information will be given to coaches and managers on their roles with regards to handling hygiene practices
  • Coaches will be informed of their allocated training window and training space
  • Game simulated contact training is allowed however wherever possible social distancing practices of 1.5mtrs should be followed

Players

All players will be required to abide by the following:

  • If players are unwell do not attend training
  • Will be required to enter/exit promptly as per the training schedule
  • Should be dressed ready to train as much as practically possible including footwear before entering training area
  • Players gear to be assembled in their designated area ensuring they maintain social distancing at all times
  • Must ensure they arrive at the specified training time, not early to avoid overcrowding
  • Enable the ‘Get in, Train, Get out’ philosophy (no hanging around after training)
  • Training is to adhere to social distancing guidelines with 1.5 metres to be maintained at all times
  • Provide their own drink bottle to training- No drink bottles are to be shared amongst players
  • Encouraged to download and use the COVID Safe App

Parents

We ask all parents for their cooperation and assistance with complying with the following:

  • If parents are unwell do not attend training, games or club
  • Parents/caregivers should maintain social distancing at all times
  • Encouraged to download and use the COVID Safe App

Club rooms and Amenities

The Sturt Lacrosse clubrooms can now be opened with the amenities to be made available as follows:

  • Restrooms are restricted to 1 occupant at a time
  • Access to amenities will be via outside access not through clubrooms

Response planning

Our response to a case of COVID-19 at the workplace is as flows in this step-by-step summary of actions to takeis:

  1. Keep others away from the confirmed or suspected case. Talk to and assess the person concerned; if they need urgent medical help, call 000 immediately.
  2. If the person is at your premises when symptoms emerge, assess the situation and risks.  Talk to the person about your concerns and next steps, and seek government health advice.
  3. If well enough, ask the person to go home, and seek medical advice and testing for COVID-19, and self-quarantine until a result is returned. Ensure the person has safe transport to get home; if not, you may need to arrange for a taxi.
  4. Close the premises, ask all patrons and unnecessary staff to leave and arrange for a full environmental and disinfection clean (refer to 6). Open doors and windows to increase airflow.
  5. Notify SA Health via HealthCommunicableDiseases@sa.gov.au to ensure they can trace any contacts of this person and contain the SA Health may ask for any attendance records you may have kept to assist with this.
  6. SA Health will assess whether other staff, patrons or contractors may have been exposed to COVID-19, and direct them to self-quarantine at home. Note: this may include your staff; as such, it is recommended to have contingency plans in place.
